Lieutenant Promotion Announced

Edina, Minn., April 20, 2010 -- Chief of Police Jeff Long recently promoted Jeff Elasky to the position of Patrol Lieutenant. Long states that “ Elasky has been an asset to the department for over 20 years and brings a positive voice and sound decision making skills to our Command Staff. I look for the Patrol Division to be strengthened and enhanced by his leadership.”

Elasky has served as sergeant for the last 8 years, and his assignments have included both Patrol and Investigations. “My heart is in Patrol, it’s why I became a police officer” but he “enjoy[s] all facets of the job.” Elasky is quick to point out the teamwork aspect of this position and says he is “…looking forward to this new opportunity to work with the dedicated men and women of our Patrol Division.”
