Edina Police asking for public’s help with recent burglaries
Edina, Minn., May 12, 2011– Within the last five weeks,
three unusual residential burglaries have occurred on the west side of Edina.
All three involved forced entry during the day and two included cut phone lines.
In two incidents jewelry was taken; in the most recent case on May 10 there was
no loss, because the female homeowner surprised the suspect in her front hall
and he turned and ran out of the home.
A white male with dark hair was
seen driving a red pickup with a black topper in the April 1 burglary, there was
no suspect seen in the May 7 incident and in the May 10 burglary the suspect was
described as a white male in his 40s with dark hair and a receding hairline.
This suspect drove off in a brown sedan with a white female in the front
passenger seat.
These burglaries may be linked to similar incidents in
Plymouth, Minnetonka and Minneapolis. Edina Police Chief Jeff Long said, “this
is a top priority for us, and I hope that someone will come forward with
something to help us find this guy, or group.”
Detective Dave Carlson is
asking for any information relevant to either the vehicles or suspects in these
burglaries. If you know anything, please call Edina Police anytime at
